Projects OLD

Description of the old fashioned CK-Tool 1.2 (16-Bit).

Important:

Recommend is to open the delivered online documentation ck.pdf. This software version is ABSOLUTELY NOT made for modern Windows versions.

CK-Tool 1.2 replaces Program-Manager of Windows 3.1x.

This descripting video isn’t brief because it shows the application in it’s environment:

Created this old-fashioned software in 1997 as user interface replacement, its not suggested to replace the Explorer with it. For that case we’ll suggest future CK-TOOL versions.

Enthusiasts which want try the old-fashioned 16-Bit user interface in modern Windows Versions may read the following:

  • Windows 9x: CK-Tool 1.2 works with cosmetique glitches.
  • Windows NT (and newer) Give it Administration rights!

And now here you can get the old software ck.zip

If ck.exe creates the “ctl3d.dll missing” error message, copy the both from ck.zip *.dll files into your Windows’ System Directory:

Win 3.1/ 9x: C:\WINDOWS\System

Windows NT 3.x up to Win2k: C:\WINNT\System32

Windows XP and above: C:\WINDOWS\System32

In some cases Windows doesn’t reside on the C drive then change.

Remember that 64-Bit Windows versions doesn’t support 16Bit apps. We will solve that with CKTOOL 2, a 32-Bit version.
